Chris is an American artist who grew up in Illinois and now resides in Texas. His strong Christian faith gives him a heart for hurting people. He feels he has a healing ministry through humor. Having recently found victory after years of anxiety, fear and depression his passion is to encourage others to find hope through story, puns and superhero chickens.
Whether I'm illustrating books for kids or creating superhero chickens, my art encourages people to be brave heroes. My sculptural art makes use of lights and darks to create beautiful pictures. Why? Because we need dark to see the light. Because heroes are not brave unless they are first afraid. Because, 'Every Hero is A Little Chicken'.
As a published illustrator I have worked across picture books, middle grade books, kids magazine, posters, and clothing. My process combines digital (Photoshop) and traditional methods. I begin with sketches and move on to digital, finishing up the work by adding texture with traditional mediums (Pencil, Markers, Color Pencil, Crayons, Oil Pastels).
